POSITION DESCRIPTION AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
JOB TITLE: CAFÉ ASSISTANT
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
GENERAL SUMMARY:
- Move with urgency.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Make and refill coffee, water, ice, creamers, sugars, and stirrers throughout shift, especially in the mornings.
- Assist café manager with preparing foods to be cooked in accordance with recipes, allergies and dietary restrictions of members and guests.
- Serve meals or food on serving line.
- Wash cups, plates, utensils, pots, pans, cooking utensils and other kitchen equipment.
- Wipe and sanitize tables, counters, cooking surfaces and equipment.
- Track inventory of ingredients, supplies, meals, beverages, and food stocks and notify café manager of inventory status.
- Assist café manager with creating monthly shopping list.
- Clean refrigerators and remove outdated or otherwise unsafe, unsanitary or risky foods, beverages or ingredients.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Check in orders for accuracy and put away items in appropriate locations.
- Assist housekeeping staff with the cleanliness of the kitchen to include sanitizing surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning up spills as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Graduate or equivalent. Prefer ServSafe certification. Training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Sanitary of food and equipment
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
Position accessed by how well they perform their general duties and other tasks assigned by management.
