Milford Senior Center
is always looking for individuals to contribute their time and talent to the Center. Please speak to anyone on staff for more information about volunteer opportunities.
Directors - The Milford Senior Center Board of
Directors is comprised of up to 18 members, 9 of whom must be Milford Senior Center Members. The Board regularly recruits for members who are interested in participating in the management of the organization .
Committee Members
- In addition to the Executive Committee, These
are the working committees established by the Board of Directors:
Finance Committee, Nominating Committee, Resource Development Committee, Personnel Committee, House and Building Maintenance Committee. Individuals do not need to be members of our Board Of Directors in order to participate on these committees.
Milford Senior Center Committees
Ad Hoc Committee
- Throughout the year, the Executive Director may establish committees
with a particular focus, intent and time limit. For example, The
Memorial Wall Committee, The Program Evaluation Committee and the
Program Planning Committee.
Hospitality
Meals On Wheels
- Delivered to people who are shut-in and live in the Greater Milford,
DE area. Monday through Friday 11:30am - 1:00pm. Mileage reimbursement
of .45/mile
Hospitality Committee
- Plan and serve the snacks and foods for monthly activities in the
Center and at other events as scheduled.
Greeters
- Greeters welcome members and visitors to the Center, provide tours and
basic information to potential new members.
Kitchen Workers
- Assist with preparing the kitchen and dining room for the noonday
meal. Help serve meals, wash dishes/pots, clean kitchen as needed.
Administrative
Office Workers
- Assist our office assistant with providing basic information,
answering the telephone, copying and other office related activities.
Media/Marketing
Public Relations Assistant
- Assist with developing fliers, preparing news releases for media,
distributing fliers in the community and providing information to local
contacts.
Programs and Activities
Program Assistant
- Work in conjunction with the Program Coordinator to develop, manage
and provide services, activities and programs to members.
Maintenance
Custodial Assistant
- Work with custodial staff to
maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment at Milford Senior Center.
Duties may include dry/wet mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen,
vacuuming, cleaning walls , setting up and breaking down for events.
Specialty Skills
- Plumbers, electricians and woodworking individuals need to assist with
basic repairs and improvements to the facility. Painter to assist with
plastering and repair of walls as needed; some painting/touch-up.
Fund Raising
Throughout the year, Milford Senior Center coordinates
fundraising activities to support the Center's activities and programs.
These may include the spaghetti dinner, hoagie sales, pancake supper,
and the Variety Show.
